Well hello there! My name is Malissa Robinson and I was an educator for 8 years. For seven of those years, I was an elementary teacher and Reading Specialist for St. Louis Public Schools. Last year, I was a Humanities Teacher at City Academy. 

This journey began as a hobby after my kids requested specialty birthday cakes that I wasn't able to find at my local grocers.  Throughout my school years, I would practice decorating cakes and found different techniques to experiment with. 

After my employer decided to "move in a different direction", I took some self-care time to reflect on where I wanted my next path to proceed. That led me to start my business, Missy's Delectablez, where I can incorporate two passions, learning and baking. 

My kids are the foundation of this journey. For Christmas one year, my middle daughter Kyla gifted me my first stand mixer, and Ori, my oldest,  gifted me an engraved flowered rolling pin. My son, Quentin, who has Autism, loves to help me mix the batter. 

Now here I am, a contestant on The Greatest Baker by one of my baking inspirators, Buddy Valastro. How cool is that!!!! The sky is no longer the limit, it's the starting line.
